  • Please drop your children off 10 to five minutes before class. (No earlier, no later)
  • There will be a clipboard for you to sign your child in and out of class.
  • Make sure that children have gone to the rest room, dance shoes are tied, wearing the proper attire, and hair tied back before you arrive. No getting dressed inside the classroom.
  • Please come a few minutes early to pick children up on time.
  • Parents should treat each other with equal respect and with the same regard in which they would like to be treated. Any form of bullying or disrespect towards another parent in the class will not be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly. Parents need to remember that the class is a team effort and everyone should work together for the benefit of ALL children, not just your own child.

Section 3

Rules for Dancers

Behaviour: Students should show mutual respect for each other and for their teacher and poor behaviour will not be allowed. Dancing is fun and to be enjoyed by all so I ask each and every student to abide by this simple philosophy at all times.
Punctuality: So as not to effect the enjoyment of other students you should ensure that you arrive in plenty of time for your class. Students need to arrive in time to get dressed into the correct attire and to be mentally prepared to enter a class situation. It is not acceptable to run in at the last minute out of breath and be ready for a class as this will not produce the best results.
Correction of Pupils: Teaching to dance correctly will from time to time involve physical contact, to get students into the correct stance for example. Parents may also hear the teachers voice being raised during class whilst dancers are dancing, this is to make sure dancers can hear the teacher over the sound system.
Uniform: Correct attire is an essential part of preparation for class; it is essential to be well groomed for every class. Students should wear the correct attire for class, such as loose fitting t-shirts, vest tops and shorts. Dancers are not permitted to wear skirts or denim shorts.
Hair: All students’ hair should be tied back and clear from the face, hair should not be left down.
Jewellery: It is not necessary to wear jewellery to dance classes, stud earrings are allowed for dance class but any other jewellery should be left at home for safety of all.
Mobile Phones: May be brought into class for security reasons, but must remain left on silent during class and must not be played with during dance classes.
Dancers should have an equal respect for each other and treat each other in the way they would like to be treated.
Any dancer who brings the School into disrepute will be suspended from class and may be expelled.

Section 4

Contacting the Teacher

Some parent’s may not be aware that as-well as running the Dancing Class 4 nights a week, David also works full time, Monday – Friday between the hours of 9:00 and 17:30. It is requested that unless totally necessary, that David is not contacted during these hours to allow him to carry out a normal day of work.

If a parent is unable to make class or is running late a simple text message is all that is required to let David know of your circumstances.

If a parents wishes to discuss anything to do with their OWN child, they must not send a text message or an email, the parent should approach David before or after a class and request some time to have a chat. No class will be disrupted for any parent wishing to speak to David.

Section 5. – Misc.

Viewing Classes

After careful consideration and feedback from dancers and parents, classes will now be closed to all Parents. It has been found that parents viewing classes has proven to be distracting to the child of the parent, other dancers and the teacher. Parents will be allowed to view classes on the first Monday of each month, after this class the rest of the month will be closed to parents.

Bullying

Under NO circumstances will any form of harassment or bullying to any member of the school be tolerated.  This is taken very seriously and can result in dismissal.

Fees and Missed Classes

Fees must be paid on the first Monday Class of each month. Late fees will incur a 10% charge of the total fees payable.

Missed Classes will not be refunded. Classes that have been cancelled by the David will be made up at a later date. If you miss a class, you still pay for that lesson. If you miss several classes, David will try to arrange a time to make up the work.
